17" Rota Fox Wheels on a 993?

I have the #4 Rota Fox 17" wheels on my 87 911...I LOVE 'em! I am looking for another Porsche...a 1995 or 1996, 993 and I want to put my Rota Fox wheels on the 993. The thread below indicates that there would be a fit problem as the factory cup wheels that come on the 993 are a different offset and Fuchs would not fit a 993.

Would this also apply to the Rotas? Does anyone out there have any way to find out if the Rota Fox wheels would fit on a 993?

Fuchs on a 993 ...

Jerry

Jerry,
I could sense your excitement when I posted the videao of the black 993 but unfortunately, the Rota foxes that work on your your Carrera simply will not work on a 964/993 because of the very different offset. 993 wheels will work on SC/Carreras with spacers. I had 16 inch cups on my sc but had to use 1inch front and almost 3 inch spacers for them to fit. I have since gone back to Fuchs.

That being said, I would think that, for the right amount of $$$$$$, a set of Fuchs style wheels that would fit a 993 could be had. In Europe, there is a company that sells replica 911 RS's with Fuch style wheels. IMO, they just don't look right.
If it were me, I would just do as the fellow in the video did and paint the factory wheels.

Thanks Wayne!
OK, I'll keep the Rota's for the 87 911 and when I get a 993, I'll get some Supercups with the centers painted black and polished rims.

Sweet. You can still have some "lip"
on the 993 wheels, especially if you go with the Supercup style.

I would think Lindsey Racing could possibly custom make some 17" Fuchs with the correct offset for a 993???

I'm sure they could, but I think they'd be downright ugly with no "dish".

I agree, I only said they COULD do it, not that they SHOULD do it

It can be done, easily with a 3 piece wheel. But they would have about the same "lip" or "dish" as a 911 16x6.....

Cheers
