Gulf 918 x2
Figured you guys might like a few pictures from the event I attended last night. I'm just going t make this a photo dump for now, and I'll answer questions below. Some non-Porsche concept, but I think most of us like Italian cars as well
2 Gulf livery 918's were unveiled last night here in Saskatoon SK CA, my hometown These are authorized by Porsche and Gulf oil, all work was done in stuttgart, including embossing the gulf logo on the headrests instead of the Porsche crest. all acid green accents were deleted, matching luggage was built with gulf themed piping. There are no vinyl decals on the car, all logos are painted from factory. Both cars are Weissach editions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice !
But I thought that Gulf were now associated with Aston Martin. Could this be a sign that the Gulf-Porsche Racing colors could be back in some series ?

no, unfortunately no return to sponsorship. The owner of these cars (Vaughn Wyant) initially went through Gulf management in Canada, who got it signed off by the UK HQ to allow the cars to be built. Porsche would only build the cars after he got official confirmation that it would be allowed. The cars cannot be used for racing/promotion/tour purposes, they are for a private collection. The owner also has a Ford GT in Gulf livery.

Well hats off to him ! Obviously, this guy has deep pockets and carry a lot of weight at Gulf and Porsche. And still, it must have been a lot of work and phone calls to have these build for him. I amazed that Porsche agreed to do this.

He owns a Porsche dealership, and about a dozen other dealerships, I think he is doing okay. The cars themselves were $1.4M USD, another $450K in custom work.
