That's Magnus' car. He's a long-time POC racer -- who also isn't afraid to carve a canyon road to shreds, now and then.

I also appreciate the pictures. The next best thing to being there.

Next year!

LOL! Beau, don't get discouraged. It can be fixed.

Looking forward to the next one.

Great pics guys! Wish I could've been there, but I had to fly today.

Beau, sorry to see your mishap.

That's funny... I'm pretty sure I was flying a couple times today as well.

Wayne, I couldn't resist. Tree Trimmer seems so catchy.

It's good to have a sense of humor about it - you were lucky after all there that there wasn't a bigger tree, a telephone pole, or a pack of lions hiding there at the side of the road.

Hey, Beau, glad you're OK. If the new G50 tranny mount we made held up to that, you're good to go, huh? I'm a little surprised you did an off. I remember you telling me you almost bit it up on Decker 2-3 years ago. I thought that would have told you something. You need to take it easy, man.

Why don't you and I sign up for the PCA SDR drivers school? I hear that's been the slippery slope for many here. I'm willing, let's go.

I couldn't agree more!

I think we all need to remember that these are "fun runs," and not speed exhibitions suited for Willow Springs. Safety and fun (in that order) should be the priority. Speed and recklessness just don't have a place on these runs, especially with a mix of drivers with skills ranging from those of pros like Jack, Dave B., and others, to "mere mortals" like me and the majority of other drivers on these runs. Add speed and recklessness to the mix, and it's a recipe for disaster. I'm glad Beau and his car both came out relatively unscathed, but it could have been MUCH worse, especially because the road was narrow with tight (almost blind) turns, and cars, bicyclists, and motorcyclists were going in both directions.

If you want to race, take it to the track. Otherwise, come out and have fun with the rest of us but, to quote Milt, "take it easy."

My $.02. Rant over.

Why can't I watch the quicktime movies posted? I have Quicktime installed but I get a white box with a blue Q and a question mark displayed. When I click on the Q, nothing happens. I tried right-clicking and saving as a source and as a movie, but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone help me, please? Thanks

Beau, Milt and all the rest of the guys are right, of course. Now, considering that you like to drive fast and aggressively, I would suggest that you try your hand at the track. It's a total blast and is much, much safer overall. Very importantly, you'll begin to learn the real driver skills that translate to making you a much more skilled driver.

I would highly recommend that you go with Milt to the PCA San Diego Region's driver's clinic - totally worth it.

Also, if you like, join us at Big Willow for another track day on December 12th (a Wednesday). There's a thread started in the Autocross and Racing forum.

See you around, Beau.

Hey guys, here are the photos of the "incident". By the way, thank you Tinker for the pics. Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I completely understand that I need to keep it safe. I think the lesson I learned is to not push the limits on the road, which is what I was doing. So for now, I think I'll be extra cautious on public roads. The last thing I want is to repeat my mistakes. But you can definately count on me showing up to future track events.

Ah... What a glorious day it was, up until my exhaust decided to bail on me. I ended up limping home sounding like a WV bug running in two cylinders on recycled vegetable oil. The first part of the Ride was excellent though. long fast sweeps, chasing Dave, Mangus, and the 996/997? turbo...Ah.. almost forgot the stock white SC with blue headlights chasing me. All I have to say to you is.......NICE!
Mangus' 2.4 is a beast!
The 996 or 997 turbo was just FAAAAST!!. Awesome car and obviously skilled driver. (rare combo in that car)
Dave, well Dave was just Dave...- you think you're catching him, pat yourself on the shoulder, then..... that evil puff of smoke... bye!

Overall, awesome day. I even made it back in time to have lunch with the girl and her mom. Scored big time for that

PS. Sorry if I pissed anybody off. ( read white cab.)
