Do I have a problem?

Ok, my wife would probably say I had a problem. At the gas station on today's run I spilled a liitle bit of gas on the 959 fender. They didn't have any towels there so I took off my shoe and wiped the fender with my sock. Some would say I have a problem. :)

Today's fun run was, well , fun. Although after being in the car for so long, it feels good to be sitting on the couch (typing this on wifey's iphone). I feel guity - being a bit tired of driving the 959 is like being tired of having sex with Jessica Alba! Oh well, I guess that you can't do either of those all day long...

Hope ypu all had fun!

I'd like to officially go on record that I will gladly volunteer my services to disprove this theory. :D

Problem or obsession?

I think that can only be answered by a trained professional.

pozee 11-22-2007 01:33 PM

No problem at all! Now, if you had removed your underwear........

I don't know about your wife but if any of mine had ever heard me say that there would surely be some trouble coming down.
But then again if I could have ever had sex with Jessica Alba I'd of never been married to ANY of my wives.

I can see no problem. You chose a sock over a paper towel. soft vs scratchy. Don't you carry speed shine for such occasions. I guess I'm the one with the problem.
P.S. save the matching sock for a future spill. Craig

Even my wife thought that it was a good idea. But hey, she is so used to me being totally anal about my car her opinion probably can't be trusted........

Do you have a problem?

Wayne you are just fine, Noah needs some help. Can someone please lend him a copy of "Sin City" ASAP. ;)

My thoughts exactly. I suspect we have a problem...

Back to Wayne's comment about the gas spill and the sock. You mean to tell me that you don't keep a couple of microfiber towels in the car for dusting the dashboard along with a little brush for cleaning the dust out of the air vents when you're sitting at a stop light? Evidently you do have a problem, or is that you don't?:)

Danny_Ocean 11-22-2007 07:44 PM

Not a problem. Now, if you removed your wife's shoe/sock and wiped it down...then you'd have a problem.

Hmmm...959 or Jessica Alba? Unfortunately, most of us will never get to make that choice... :(

Ahh - Sin City! Now I've seen that movie. I'm useless at remembering names and putting them to faces. I still don't recall her face but I do know who you're talking about, if you catch my drift.

At least with the 959 you'd stand a good chance of beign able to fix it yourself in the garage.

JFairman 11-22-2007 07:50 PM

no... gotta use what you have

but,

there's no comparison driving a car to playing with Jessica Alba
none at all.

Danny_Ocean 11-22-2007 07:50 PM

Sin City? Pffft...how 'bout "Into The Blue"!

I think we're missing the real issue here. dress or sport sock? cotton or poly-blend? fresh or well-worn? the answers would give us a better idea of the depth of the problem.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/silly.gif

Did you put your sock back on?

Buckterrier 11-23-2007 03:15 AM

I'll bet the 959 didn't want to cuddle after you drove her ;) As for a problem...
NOT. Pretty smart? yeap

Only problem I see is you should have used a raincoat , not a sock .

( On Jessica , that is , sock is a ok for 959 , whatever that is )

Dantilla 11-23-2007 03:36 AM

One of the more infamous threads on the 944 board was about a guy bringing his newly purchased 944 with some "issues" to a mechanic.

The mechanic found the prior owner used several socks used in different ways to fix/mask/avoid problems. Socks used to stop rattles, socks used to tie things in place, socks used to divert water leaks, socks as insulation, and a few spare socks in the rear hatch for roadside repairs. Socks under the hood, socks in the interior, socks stuffed all over the car.

Wayne, you have legitimized socks as proper repair techniques in the maintenance of Porsches. I expect a new section in the parts section, with photos, part numbers, and explanations of the best use of socks.

This 944 also had some old lamp cords used for electrical repairs. You may want to go get a couple of old lamps from goodwill and keep them in the 959 for spare parts.

Wayne,

Sock? Wow, I always just used my tongue. You learn something everyday. BTW, Jessica is in the kitchen makin breakfast, she says hello. Noah, she said shame on you for not paying closer attention to pop culture.

Oh, she's a cuddler.
