Air pump injection blanking plugs question.

To remove my air pump assembly ('76 2.7S with CIS) I need to blank off the hole left when removing the air injectors.

I know that blanking plug kits exist but everywhere I try is out of stock.

Actually, there is one place but their price is outrageous around $55 for 6 plugs!

Can I just plug the gap with a stainless steel bolt (or similar) of the right thread & correct length?

If so does anyone know the correct plug dimensions?

Cheers, JG

I just installed a set of these in my 3.3T motor. Don't remember the size offhand, I'll check for you.

The last time I purchased these, I got them from PMO (310-394-6313). I usually pick up a couple of sets so that I have them around.

JG,

Take one of the fittings with you to your local ace hardware store and they should be able to help you find the right plug.

As an alternative, you could remove the tubing and drill and tap a thread to screw a bolt in. This would also work fine.

Hi, finaly got into photopoint.

It' about a 4 or 5 allen.

Hmmm it seems you can no longer put a picture in a post, or I haven't figured it out yet.

Can anybody measure the plugs they have & let me know dimensions & thread pitch.

Other than that I'll use stormcrows suggestion and plug the air injectors themselves.

The only reason I can't take one of the air injectors to my local fastener shop, is I still have the heat exchangers in place.

I want to upgrade to SSI's or pre74 units & plug the air injectors all at once, some plugs ready to go in would be nice.

Cheers, JG
