1973 Strut identification
Hi
I'm trying to identify the front struts on my car so I can buy some new inserts. I know they are not Bilsteins ( no lower roll pin) , so that leaves either Koni or Boge Am i right in thinking the Koni struts are tapered near their bottom? Here is a photo of my strut :

I think this is a koni strut with the tapered lower ...
Koni "S" Struts for Sale  I might have answered my own question here, as it looks like mine are Boge

You are mixing several vintages and style strut. And, the link you posted has false info in it. The pic is of a '69 - '71 [identified by the pinch-bolt retention of the ball-joint stud] Boge strut, which is identifiable by the sloted cap nuts. KONI cap nuts use a spanner-pin-drive.
The first two pics are of '72 - '73 struts with tapered pin retention of the ball-joint pin. If you clean off your struts, you will find the mfr and OEM Porsche part number stamped into the body of the strut.

Hi
Last time I looked at my struts I found a part number but no manufacturer stamp. It has been mentioned I might have Boge struts from an SC with the 3.5" caliper spacing? Do you think they are Boge struts fitted to me car? Thanks
