1973 Strut identification
Hi
I'm trying to identify the front struts on my car so I can buy some new inserts. I know they are not Bilsteins ( no lower roll pin) , so that leaves either Koni or Boge Am i right in thinking the Koni struts are tapered near their bottom? Here is a photo of my strut : ![]()

You are mixing several vintages and style strut. And, the link you posted has false info in it. The pic is of a '69 - '71 [identified by the pinch-bolt retention of the ball-joint stud] Boge strut, which is identifiable by the sloted cap nuts. KONI cap nuts use a spanner-pin-drive.
The first two pics are of '72 - '73 struts with tapered pin retention of the ball-joint pin. If you clean off your struts, you will find the mfr and OEM Porsche part number stamped into the body of the strut.

Hi
Last time I looked at my struts I found a part number but no manufacturer stamp. It has been mentioned I might have Boge struts from an SC with the 3.5" caliper spacing? Do you think they are Boge struts fitted to me car? Thanks
