M&k

Anyone have any pics of the M&K exhaust tips? I need to extend the exhaust pipes on my M&K and wanted to see what the tips Ben makes look like.

TIA!

they are all cut off 90 degree elbows! Are you looking for rolled ends of sorts?

something like that. Mine don't come out beyond the bumper and my engine smokes a little due to some worn guides and rings so I was looking to extend the tips out a bit further.

Hey Ben. While you're here... I have one of your 1 in 1 out mufflers. If I was to switch to SSI's, how absurd would it be to mod the muffler to 2 in? Would you suggest against this?

Why not buy some ready-made at the FLAPS? They have lots of diameters and styles. Pepboys and the like have the biggest selection. Go online. You can also find some ss ones, if you look around.

To much work to make sense.. you can get a decent buck for your used unit to offset the cost of a new one

I haven't really found anything that I liked and I like the smaller diameter of the existing tail pipes, I just wished they were a bit longer than they are so they came out atleast flush with the end of the bumper.

In hindsight I keep seeing the ones with the center exhaust that come out under the lic plate and wish I had ordered that one instead. Regardless I am happy with it and love the sound, best muffler that has ever been on the car.

I can make small extensions but they would need to be welded on or clamped on or even screws

What would be easiest for you to do? I'll take a measurement and see how long I need them, I don't think more than a couple inches. I'll post tomorrow with the measurement.

I will be interested in the feedback as well. I have 2 out MK and have similar situation on the right side as you are looking from the back of the car. It's only on that side not the left(drivers side). When I try to bend the pipe, the rubber fitting to the HE comes off as well. Not a big deal but I do get some discoloration on the bumper after a while, only on that one side.

What dia extension would one need to buy to fit the stock pipe out of MK, don't want it to look like a cobb job, just looking for a nice stubby extension.

This might be a viable option but would probably be better welded on than using the clamp screws. Wondering if 3" is too big? Don't want to screw up Ben's nice work.

That is a nice tip but not really the look I am going for. I think at this point I am going to have Ben make some extensions and have them welded on. I have an uncle that is a welder so I think that would be the cleanest look.
