Ray Dorr, a longtime Porsche owner, died March 1 after a lengthy battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), aka Lou Gehrig's disease. You may not recognize his name right away, but if you follow the NFL you will probably recognize his proteges:
Warren Moon Chris Chandler Rob Johnson Tim Couch Ray was a very gifted quarterback coach who got the most out his students. His last position was QB coach at Texas A&M, and while not known as a "QB school," he was instrumental in the Aggies winning the Big 12 Championship a few years ago. Kent State, University of Washington, USC, Kentucky, Texas A&M.... wherever he went, Ray left a wonderful legacy. I was sad last year when I saw an ad for his 911 (mid-70s model) in AutoTrader.com as I already knew of his fight with ALS. Sorry to dim the moment on a wonderful Bulletin Board, but it harkens us to "carpe diem"... and I can't think of a better way of doing that than to enjoy our little beauties sittin' in the garage. |
