New suspension pan; Seam sealer before or after POR15?
Finishing up my suspension pan installation and i'm not sure if i should put the POR15 on before or after i brush in the seam sealer.
I'm worried about the POR sticking to the seam sealer if i put the seam sealer in first. Thanks for the help!!! Erik

I would say por first if you read the instructions por15 should ideally be in contact with bare metal to work properly. Then seam seal ontop of this you may need to use there tie coat primer to get the sealer to stick properly to the por or maybe just degloss it with some wet and dry?

I would check with the POR-15 people, dont get this wrong! The seam sealer has a very important function over welds to stop rust in small pockets. I dont know if POR has the ability to get into all the small holes to eliminate air pockets.
PS: I am no expert but I have read quite a few treads about this and recently did the same job, but with other more traditional materials. John

If you check their website, I belive POR-15 make a seam sealer of their own, or at least it is a thick formula that comes in a caulking tube and is meant to be used as such. At the least, I would seal over the POR-15 as Steve said, since the POR is supposed to be contacting metal.
