My 88 Carrera has a cut-out on the right side of the rear valence, as well as one on the left side for the stock muffler outlet. Is this right hand cut-out normal, or would it have been done by a previous owner?
I am contemplating replacing the stock muffler with a Dansk single inlet - dual outlet muffler. Can I assume that the dual outlets will fit the dual cut-outs already in the valence? I would also like to know how much noisier the single in/dual out Dansk is, compared to the stock muffler. My wife complains that the stock muffler is too noisy. My Speedster replica has a Dansk muffler (on a Type 1 VW engine), and it is very noisy; so much so that I cannot listen to the radio while driving. |

Dual outlet mufflers are significantly louder, as a rule. You could have a muffler shop add a second outlet to your existing muffler cutting a hole into it (which would make it louder), or not cutting a hole into it, where the second outlet would be decorative.
