Hesitation or other?
I have a '75 2.7 stock ROW engine which I installed webers / MSD on last winter. I drive the car very rarely as it still has alot of work to go before it is road worthy. After warm up with some light driving, I like to give the engine a little kick and run through all the gears. At 1st gear and about 3/4 throttle no problem up to ~4,500 rpm, come into 2nd gear at 3/4 throttle and I feel a noticeable hesitation starting about ~3,500 rpm, 3rd - 5th no problem. So why would I only have hesitation in 2nd?
Weber / MSD / CIS fuel pump / 3.5 fuel pressure / can't remember exact weber setup but can post later / new plugs / old spark plug wires / New rotor, cap / new coil |

I don't know if this helps but I also have a 75 with webers, stock US spec motor.I have only had the car for the past six months but it runs like a dream with the stock Bosch CDI and points. The documentation goes back many years with the car and many comments and repairs were made when it had the MSD and permatune box at different times. The used Bosch box was put in just before I got the car and have now put on around 6 thousand miles mostly from the trip back to Vancouver from Chicago.

Thanks for responding. That engine looks nice and, not that I've been around 911's my whole life, but I haven't seen the air blower done like that.
MSD's are supposed to be a good upgrade when going to Webers. Just another thought to throw out there....could the hesitation actually be a slip in the clutch? I just find it odd that it only happens in 2nd gear? |
