Try the search option. It has a bunch of threads about installing windshields. You should be installing it with a new gasket, and the aluminum trim should be installed into the gasket before the windshield and gasket is installed. Not that hard to do, so are you sure this guy is a pro?

I used to own a 67 912 and had this done as well. Marv is correct that a new rubber seal should be used and the aluminum trim goes in first. They use the 2 person rope on the inside while someone outside firmly and evenly applies pressure. Most competent installers should have no problem.
Good luck, David |
make sure you get an OEM rubber seal, because it's a tight fit, and aftermarket rubber could get you into problems. We installed the windshield with 4 guys, and 4 tries to get it right...not that simple if you're not used to it.
one guy with the rope in the rubber groove on the inside, 3 other guys pushing on the windshield from the outside. |
