Same guy has been advertising in the Cars for Sale forum. I suppose for someone that can't do the work themselves this would be an option. Not sure it is the most cost effective, but I have been known to be cheap.

That bad, eh?
![]() The owner of this project, Marc Zurlinden, wants me to build the engine for this car--a true, no-expense-spared 3.0RSR-IROC MFI engine. An engine that EASILY costs more than a nice G50 Carrera... I mean, I watch this board and see hacks everywhere, selling their garbage 959 conversions and fiberglass abominations...this car is not one of those. I've built several pure race engines for Marc's personal cars and the Adamowicz Trans-Am car that he put together. That car appeared at Rennsport Reunion III and is one of the nicest examples of an early SWB 911 that I've seen. And, as some of you may know, I'm a diehard fan (just like Marc is) about how Porsche built cars "back then". I guarantee you I wouldn't keep building RSR engines for a client if they weren't done the right way. He does things the right way. Marc is an expert fabricator and Mechanical Engineer by trade: he builds, he welds, he cuts metal, bends tubes and designs machine on a computer all day long. The man has skills. Also, the project is whatever you want it to be. If you want a '73 2.8RSR, that's what it will be. If you want a 911S-T, done. If you want to make an IROC-look car like Teo's 3.9 Mexico Blue car, no problem. Marc has a bunch of trick parts and he's looking for a guy to tell him how to finish the car. He is a great guy to work with. If you've got cash in the bank and you want a brand-new RSR, call him. Out, Scott

That's a lot of money, but when it's rare parts and 100's of hours of labor involved.... If he's found a market, and a way to finance what he must enjoy, more power to him.
If he produced something that is concours ready except the VIN, basically a new, old, car. I dunno, it would be interesting to see the breakout of parts cost and labor. |

Interesting sales/ marketing approach. I have seen the ad many times on every board. It is just a difficult buying concept / proposal to wrap my mind around. I am sure Matteo's car was in that neighborhood if not more.
