Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a new vacuum line that connects the aux air valve, aux air regulator, etc. Its the preformed vacuum line on the right side of the engine that has about three branches that go to all these components. It's on a '80 targa. I don't know if there's a place that stocks these or if there's any reproductions out there.

If you want the best vacuum lines go to www.hosetechniques.com. These lines are made of silicone and are the best. Not sure where to get the factory ones.

This is the kind of problem I tend to solve in the most inconvenient way. I woudl assemble a collection of hose pieces, straight and bent, and some angle tubing and clamps, and I'd fabricate something that works almost as well. Except for the custom bends, vacuum tube is standards stuff. Warren says the German, cloth braided stuff is easily superior to run-of-the-mill autoparts stuff. I agree and so do several dozen other people I've talked to over the years.

I got that hose from www.stuttgarthaus.com
They were good to deal with and had both new and used versions available in 24 hours. I went with the new one, though, since I would be hesitant to put a used part in after lowering the engine to gain access. Olivier 82 SC |
