Do you like these new wheels on the SC?

They are 17" Carerra cup fakes. A bit heavy but they look nice - I think.

Try a painted center cap and you may be good to go -

Of all the later wheels I think those are the ugliest, 993 cup IIs of turbo twist would look so much better.

And I feel the opposite. I like the Cup Is better than the other two. Go figure. It's all a matter of taste.

I like 'em, although I think the Fuchs are classic...

I think that they look really nice, the only other thing that I would do, as some others suggested would be to highlight the center caps, and put the small Porsche emblems on them. A+ Good luck!!

Thanks for the kind words guys!!! Yup I do like the twists but I feel the cups go beter with the classic, no wing, look.

Fuchs sure are nice. I got a set of wheel adapters but they didn't fit under the fuchs and I couldn't be bothered swapping out the wheel studs for longer ones if I was to convert the adapters to spacers.

No, and I don't like them on 964's or 993'3 either, but if YOU like them that's all that really counts!

Hi Noah, I've been a bit quiet on this site so I'm not too up to date. How are you doing and how's the Carerra 3.0? Did you further that idea of going to business school in London?

Hi Bill,

I think the Cups look great on your car, a perfect match with its colour.

Not to hi-jack this thread, but my car is now running very well and strong again finally. Its good to be finally enjoying it again.

What's your next upgrade project for your car?

Hi Sheldon, nothing planed. I guess I should really do the bushings (torque bar or thereabouts) but I only like doing things that make it go faster or I can see

Hey, congradulations getting the car sorted. What was it? It was fun meeting at QLD raceway and what a nice bunch of people you have over there.

I like em, look great w/ the silver and I bet they were priced right as well. Certainly a nice 17" alternative.

Thanks.

They were cheap alright. I bought them off our local version of ebay complete with tires for, probably, the price of the tires alone. A chap had bought them for his 928 and the offset was wrong.

They are heavier than the fuchs, but I guess most wheels are.

That is the FIRST pre-'89 911 that I've liked the look of a more modern 911 (translated=larger offset/little dish) wheel on. It must be the silver.

(And I have to make the statement, the Turbo Twist is the ugliest wheel ever made by Porsche!)

IMO, most 17's, including these, are too big for the 911.

Sorry.

The car is drop dead beautiful. Not a fan of tails. Beautiful.

Looks sweet Bill, actually better that I thought.

PS Got the speedo, thanks! My computer has crashed again (motherboard) and I haven't had a chance to email.

Ha, Sheldon you were right all the time saying it was the fuel distributor - time to enjoy the car now

Good luck with the speedo John. Fingers crossed the face and needle will swap ok. I bet Warren on this BBS would know how to wire it in.

The SC used to be brown (metalic bronze), with brown seats and brown carpet, ummm. Plus it had a bit of rust so I took the fenders bumpers door sunroof... off and got it painted plain silver. The silver is straight out of the bucket PPG silver with a bit more than usual sparkel.
