I'm not sure if it came on the middies, but check for a gold colored plate or sticker in the engine bay near the latch. It will give you factory recommended tire sizes as well as tire pressures front/back.

FWIW, I ran these wheel sizes on my '76 before I flared it and ran 195/65s in the front and 205/60s in the rear. I also ran some other sizes, but liked these the best on the 6s and 7s.

Here's my Middy ('76) with 205/60x15's all around. No rubbing at all even with three people in the car.

I'm sitting at my desk looking at my old factory gold foil sticker and the car originally had 185/70 VR15's.

205/65/15
Advantage is almost exactly the same rolling radius as OE.

They're just regular flat 6's. Nothing special.

When I bought my car it had 16x6's & 7's (I think they were 7's in back, may have been 16x6's all around - I'll check). Yeah, here's the "Before" pix:

I really dislike that big flat lip on the 16x6's and I had originally wanted an Early car but the prices were skyrocketing at the time so...
I decided to go Middy; which by definition spans the Early cars and the SC's.

I used a few styling points to emphasize their connection to the Earlies. Middies are narrow bodied already so I backdated to the 15x6's, and the narrow bumperettes. I welded the door up for the rectangular stainless mirror and the foglight holes and also went with an early car metal grill. Fortunately my car was the last year with standard bright trim and opening rear windows so I got the look I wanted (well, close anyway) without paying for an early car. Let's see a picture of your car....espcialy since "I've shown you mine" in Before condition!
