Becker stereo questions

Hello,

I have come across a Becker CR-210 for sale. It also comes with the CD changer. I think it came out of a 99 911. My questions are:

1. does this CD changer play mp3's?

2. is there a way on this model to use an aux input like an iPod?

3. will the stock 83 harnesses still plug into this model?

Thanks

1. No
2. No, at least not with the changer.
3. No, not without some modification.

The 210 also has a factory coded theft deterent system. Make sure you get the code if you choose to force this effort. Good Luck!

Don't know about #1 or #2 but you should be able to download a manual from Becker at www.beckerautosound.com and for # 3 Southwest Stereo www.swstereo.com can make you one. I had this done to install a Becker CDR-220, I think it cost about $25 IIRC.

Everyone is right, #1 is a definite no, but the others are a definite - you can do it.

I have a CDR220 in my 911 and had the same questions; you can get all the parts from Becker as well; they are very helpful there. It's pretty straight forward, just ask whomever you get the parts from if the front display is polarized; the 220 is made to be viewed from the seat angle of a 996 ONLY, meaning you can't really see the channel, etc from the driver's seat of a 911 (at least mine).

Becker swapped my radio face for a nonpolarized one, itg works like a charm now - and I can see what is on the radio.
