TPC Supercharger

Hi guys i have a 1980 Sc updated to a steel 930S Turbo Slantnose Cab , I have recently upgraded the engine with a 1994 3.6 with a bunch of goodies , custom stainless exhaust , chip, and some other things! The car has about 304 hp! Im very interested in gettig the TPC supercharger to add more HP , My question is does anyone on here have this supercharger on there car and if so is it any good !! Or has anyone else added HP to there cars a different way. Now that its winter i have sometime to get this resolved so i can get it ready for spring.
Let me know Guys Please!!
This forum is the best for this type of stuff have used it for alot of things and to all you pelicans on here Thank you Thank you Thank you

George

I know someone who did this and it turned out to be a disaster for him. He could have completely rebuilt the engine with half the money and ended up with more horsepower. The conversion was done at a reputable place but it still burned up one engine (p/c's, valves etc) before getting it right. You are better off installing a turbo motor than putting on a supercharger....unless, of course, you've got lots of cash to burn (and I mean burn!)

Learn to use what you have before going with more HP....take some road course classes. That is unless you intend to simply be a light to light bandit...

Read that chapter in my book on Engine Rebuilding. If you want to do this right, then you need to change and modify a lot of the motor. Supercharging a stock engine without changing things like pistons and cams is a losing proposition...

Wayne is correct (of course) I run a stock bottom end 3.2 with a Paxton sc and have had no issues in 3 plus years so far. But due to the increased compression ratios of the 3.6, a bolt on sc is just not a viable option. The TPC units also put out more boost, 8-10 lbs I believe, vs the Paxton 6-7 so it is by no means a bolt on unit. This will get very expensive very quick.

9m in the UK fit SC's to standard 3.6 lumps:

Not my car but sold the owner an ECU, he says he can light the rear tyres in 3rd.

Rodsrsr,

Do you have any pictures of your setup with the paxton?

Thanks,

Bottom end is stock, although its got new rings and rod bolts. 7lbs of boost, with a much more linear curve than the whipple type. This means that hp increases with rpm, somewhat like a turbo, but with no lag. This makes it much easier on the gearbox and drivetrain components.
