After hearing incessant squeaking, squealing and finally growling fron my engine mounted fan - I have liberated the squirrel that lived in there.
I took the fan motor out last night and for the life of me I could not get the squirrel cage off. I have a new motor on the way (YES!FROM PELICAN! )and I don't want to break it. There is a shaft that shows in the center of the cage do you just beat that into submission ? ![]() Thanks for the help ! ------------------ Tom Sharpes 90 C2 Targa http://members.rennlist.com/myc2 |

Tom, best I remember the cage is a press fit on the motor shaft. I supported the full circumference of the cage, using the big hole in the bench technique, and used a drift to push the shaft out.
