SC Standard Features and Options
I believe the electric sunroof was a standard item on the 911 SC. Am I incorrect? In other words, buying a brand new 911 SC without a sunroof was a custom option. Am I incorrect?
Also, I believe the 16" wheels were a 'sport' option, and not standard. Tell me about standard features v. options for the 911 SC. |
Super--
Going through the Red Book chapter on SC's, standard v. options depended upon the year. However, it shows that in 1979, the option price for the power sunroof was $795, so it appears that it was not standard. Option code is M650 Electric Sunroof In general, Red Book says: Standard equipment were 6J x 15 front and 7J x 15 rear wheels. Optional were 16-inch wheels (6J front, 7J rear). The previous Carrera's anti-roll bars, 20mm front/18mm rear also became standard on the SC. All 911SC models worldwide came equipped with power brakes. The 11-blade cooling fan returned. |
Is there any info about what was included witht the 'sport' option? I've got an option group that no-one seems to know what it was for, but some have said they think it's the 'sport' option. I'd like to know if I have any extra goodies in there.

Thanks. Steve. Good question, Todd. I think my car had the "sport" option. It has the 16" wheels. I wouldn't be surprised if Bilsteins were part of that option. My car also has the green bilsteins. Not the Bilstein insert for Boge struts, but actual Bilstein struts.

My specific "option" is option group J16, for just over $2500. I have never found what was in this group.

Anybody have better information on standard equipment versus optional equipment on an '83 SC?
