This may be a really stupid question but....
The ignition wires for my 71e have a finger like projection on the distributor end which is part of a larger copper covered piece that wraps the end of the wire. When I install these ends into the distributor cap, do I bend the finger like projection in towards the center of the wire? It seems like this would provide much better contact. scott |

The contact is made by the two flaps on the side of that copper connector. The tip is pretty much there to control the depth that the connector goes in to the cap.
