Adhesive recommendation
I installed a C2S split grill on my '95 C4 and need to adhere a metal reinforcement bar to the front part of the plastic spoiler so that the leading edge of the spoiler lays flat against the decklid.
A picture is worth a thousand words...here is a pic of my spoiler. As you can see, the front is warping upward. The second pic is of the reinforcement rail installed in another car. Of course Porsche sells adhesive for $100 but no longer offers the special mixing cylinder or the applicator gun. Plus, the Porsche adhesive is for adhering a plastic grill to the plastic spoiler...the part I need to install is metal. Can you recommend a good (and relatively easy to use) adhesive that will be strong enough to hold the metal reinforcement rail in place onto the plastic spoiler? My worst nightmare is having the rail come loose at speed and having it get caught up in my belts. Thanks in advance! ![]() ![]()

I would use an epoxy type adhesive. It is about the only adhesive I can think of that can bond plastic and metal. You should be able to find some at your local hardware/home store.

If JB Weld doesn't hold it -- nothing will.

If you decide to go the epoxy route, do not buy the cheap stuff in the tubes at Wal-Mart etc....get the real stuff from a boatyard.

I would use a 3M two part structural epoxy adhesive, don't use the quick cure 5 min kind. West Marine or a good boat supply store should carry a varity of 3M products.
And remember the 3 most important factors are, surface prep, surface prep and surface prep. Good luck ... Rich

Not 100% sure about your application, but 3M 5200 marine adhesive is pretty stout.

Make sure the surface is clean and dry - best to use above 60 F as well.
