question about 911 windshield measurements

Hi

So my windshield broke...I am from Israel and this is very hard to get one here. Finaly i found a company that can order one but they tell me the hight in the catalog is 61.2 cm. (here we go by cantimiters, sorry...) wereas my old and cracked windshield measures only 60.5

When i come to think of it my old windshield was a replacement and looked to be a very poor one. in adition it looked as though it didnt fit the frame precicely. also, there was glue inside the rubber (...) and it may have been because it wasnt a realy good fit.

forgot to mention mine is a 1977 coupe.

Can someone tell me what is the original size (especialy the hight) of a 77 coupe windshield? (prefferably in cm...) or were can i find the measurements?

Thanks and a good weekend to everybody

Eitan

windshield size

Eitan, I had the same problem, when I rebuilt my 1966 912. the window settled on the bottom onto the gasket and the top lip of the gasket collapsed.
The measurement was the same as your broken windshield.
I just meassured my 1972 911T and the windshield is 60.5cm and the opening is 63.8cm.
The new windshield will fit and prevent from sagging. Make sure you get a new gasket and make sure it is a OEM and not one of those after market things.
After i installed the windshield, I injected some Windshield Polyurethane between the body and the gasket.

Good luck

Fritz - thanks!

I was thinking so hard how to get the original measurements, i didnt even think of doing the most logical thing, which you did - to measure the opening...

Thanks again
Eitan
