82SC Alternator Terminal??
Help!!! Just got my Paris Rhone alternator back from a rebuilt. The terminal labels were removed during the cleaning process...and now I'm starting to doubt my pre-removal sketch. The back of the alternator has three terminals: One a 10mm and two 8mm. I know that the two red wires go to the 10mm. The Bentley manual tells me that the blue wire attaches to the D+ terminal. Which one is that? According to my sketch it is the 8mm next to the voltage regulator (ie if you look at the back of the alternator, the 10mm is to the left of the voltage regulator and the 8mm D+? is to the right). Is this correct? Also, the new voltage regulator that has been installed interferes with the air guide. Anybody have this problem? Very frustrated...should have taken pictures.

Bruce,
The lower left is the D- terminal, the lower right is the B+ terminal and the top center is the 61 terminal B+ - Red Wire D- Brown wire 61 - Blue wire Hopes this info helps. Steve |
If you have any doubts, the brown wire is GROUND, and an Ohmmeter should confirm that the D- terminal has continuity with the frame of the alternator!

Thanks for all of your help. I got the alternator in today. My sketch even makes sense to me now. Thanks again,
