Question Seatbelt question / assistance

I recently acquired a '62 356/B for my wife to drive, but it is without seatbelts. The car has been restored, but the previous owner must not have been concerned about safety. I have purchased a front lap belt kit (belts and hardware) but I can't seem to figure out where to mount the tethered end. The "instructions" are no help either (yes, I am a man I and I did read them). Any guidance before I drill aimlessly through the floorpan?

Mark,
Congratulations on becoming a 356 owner.
I hope to find a nice one myself someday.
So far I've looked at about 10...all so misrepresented and disappointing.

There is a Pelican 356 BBS. Why not post your question there? And I'm sure you'll find the 356 Registry people very helpful. They have a great website and lot's of enthusiastic members. Good luck, and post a picture of the little tub if you can.

Talking

My dad has a 62 356 B and it has the seatbelt mounts! Is yours an early B as they changed in mid 62, and ours is the later T6 chassis). Anyhow, your best bet would be to go to www.356registry.org and go to the 356 talk list and sign up (its FREE) There are ALOT of knowledgeable people on the list so post the topic and you should get an answer within a day or two.

Thanks, guys. Looking at the posts on the PP 356 BBS, no one replies. I spent about a hour last night looking for mounting holes, floorpan, seats....none to be found. I'm not sure on the age/body style of the car, just know it's a '62. I guess some research is in order, but I prefer spending time on my '88 carrera and the 3 914s I have in the back yard! (Yes, I have P-car syndrome and am seeing a counselor). I posted on 356registry at the same time I posted this topic, but, the damn thing didn't go through.

Thanks for the guidance guys.
