Intercooler install question
I got a new Kokeln long next intercooler for my 79 930. Putting it all together I have a vacuum hose from the air pump alongside the distributor. This line went into the pop-off assembly under the old intercooler. With the new i/c, there is no place to route this too. I talked to Stephen at length from Imagine Auto (good guys where I got the parts from). He indicated to fit this into the manifold. Not ready to tap into that. Any suggetions from you guys with modified turbos? Thanks.

I tried to install the Kokeln intercooler also but got stuck when the exit pipe from the turbo wouldn't fit into the intercooler. I took it into Powerhaus in Phoenix to have them get it in. The line you are talking about appears to be just hanging not connected to anything. There is also another line not connected to anything but it used to go into the old stock intake which I replaced with the Powerflow. This setup probably isn't 'correct' for emissions but I don't think it hurts performance. My car seems to run fine.

the air pump (smog) has nothing to do with the popoff (bypass) valve. popoff housing is removed when using longneck intercooler and the two fabric covered hoses that went to it have no further use, so plug em. worked on mine. also remove the round, gold colored valve under the housing.

that's not a normal fitting/hose. where's it go to? that may be the wastegate hose. is the other end attached to the intake or intercooler? waste gates use a banjo like that but on a metal tube.

This line comes from the retard side of the distributor. It went into the pop-off manifold that was relaced by the long neck intercooler. I called Kokeln and tech there said to tee that into the line from throttle body to new pop-off valve. This sounds better to me.
