additional positive caster question
I am not able to get my caster setting to the spec of 6.5 degrees. The best I can do is around 8.2 degrees positive. What will the symtoms of this be if any on handling and straight line driving? Car is used for street only. 81'SC

More straight line stability and slightly more negative camber when the wheel is turned. The steering will also be a little heavier, but probably not enough to notice. I wouldn't worry about it. Just get both sides equal.

I can't really think of any downside. High caster angles result in better directional stability due to the high self-centering forces generated. GM first investigated the high caster used by Mercedes, then 'copied' the geometry, resulting in the '72 Monte Carlo, which was heralded for its' handling characteristics in the press!
