Post Roadrash @ 80 mph - ouch...

I pulled off the highway immediately after I heard an unusual sound that turned out to be the triangular shaped trim piece just in front of the right wheel well and just behind the sill cover. It's scraped up pretty badly on the front, bottom edge where it was dragging on the highway. Apparently, the little tangs became brittle and broke after I recently removed the trim piece to get at the oil lines in that area. The lousy part is that I specifically looked at all the attachment points and they seemed OK.

Any thoughts on repair/paint?
