How to rotate my gauges

Hi everyone,

I finally played with my gauges yesterday, and now can rotate them.

Now my question is: does anyone have any examples of what gauges to rotate; and how far to rotate them.

And for the final Jeapordy question:

What is the history behind rotating the gauges? Better visual? Good looks?

Chris - - just a SWAG, but if I rotated my tach, I would want the redline at the top. This way, when on the track, or when participating in other "spirited driving", when you quickly glance down and see the tach needle in the vertical position, you need to shift. Much easier to quickly comprehend than trying to read around the dial to the present redline five-o-clock position, or where ever it is.

On the other hand, you probably don't want to set your speedo so that 55 mph is TDC. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/biggrin.gif

Rotate the tach so that the redline is TDC. You'll be cool then.

Redline on my tach (rotated) is about 1:00 or 1:30. I like this better than the stock five o'clock position. My tach did not want to rotate to redline=12:00. I suspect a wire is too short. But that's fine. Redline at 1:00 is good.

All other gauges are stock position. I have seen others rotate the oil gauge so that oil temperature is more readily visible. Depends on your steering wheel I suppose.

I go along with Superman. Depends on your steering wheel. I have both the oil and speedometer turned. The speedo turned so that I can see up to 80 mph. In the regular position my Momo & my hand covers the speed from 55 to 80.

I left the tach the way it was but turned the speedo so that 60 is a 9 o'clock.. My Momo wheel does a great job of obscuring the speedo...

The history belongs to rallye cars.
Rotate your tach so that the optimum RPM range is on top, like 4-5000 rpm. Depends on your engine and settings.
That way, you can watch the needle to be on top-all what you need as an experienced driver to get most power out of the engine.
