85 carrera blowing fuse...where's the backup light switch
hey guys...is it true the backup light switch is near the fuel sending unit and "fanfare" for my 85 carrera? on the SC's i guess its on the transmission.
reason i'm asking is because the fuse keeps blowing. i could care less about not having backup lights, but the darn turn signals don't work when the fuse is blown. (it blows when i put the car in reverse) thanks! david anyone know what the ohm reading _should_ be once i get that bad boy off? |
it's on the nose of the transmission. testing should show open and closed.

anyone know if i can get to this thru the access cover in the cabin? or is this a job for the roller/creeper?

ya gotta go under. one of the wires really would have to be contacting ground to blow a fuse. they usually just touch each other if they pull out of the switch inside their boot. no boot and hanging wires, then could be an issue. i wouldn't think that the switch itself would ever short to ground.
