911T 72 Washer bottle
Hello, im new in here.
Im restoring a 72 911T and wondering about windscreen washer pump location and washer bottle location. I found one tank in side left fender, but it was connected to gas tank and it has only 2 hoses connecting to it. I did not have any washer pumps when i got the car. Also there is one compartment behind the "firewall" in front of passenger footwell, it had a hole cut in do it, what for is that space used there. You can see pics at wwwporsche911t72.blogspot.com (yes it is without dot) thanks all Harri

wind shield washer
harri, the compartment is called the smuggler box and was designed for the auxiliary heater or air conditioner. Your car had an A/C and the rusty sheetmetal opening was for the cold air to enter the passenger compartment.
The washer bottle sits under the front cross member from the trunk. you should have a 2" hole on the driver side, where the filling spout comes out.

smuglers box looked like someone had made the opening itself, i welded it shut. So now know im missing washer bottle and bump. Are they availlable as new? Is it possible to know somehow if that car came out from factory with AC?
It had a weber conversion made in the 80s. and i have some useless hoses laying around engine bay. I would like do restore the car to its original condition. at the moment im working with body and sheet metal.

Washer bottle
Hi, on my car there is two "bottles" in the left front wing. As you state, one must be for the petrol tank, and the other is the washer bottle. The pump sits next to the battery on my car...
I have a problem with the petrol tank, that if I fill it right up, it empties itself somewhat, and the petrol spills out. This may have something to do with the "bottle" in the front fender. I am going to remove it and reroute the hoses...Ole
