Replacing Engine Wiring Harness

I have purchased a 73.5 911T sunroof coupe that has been off the road since 1986 due to an engine fire. The origional engine was traded off for a bare metal paint job. I am going to start putting the car back together. The main wiring harness was cut off a foot or so from where it exits the rear of the tunnel, as it was melted in the fire. I have a spare wiring harness that came with the car. Has any one ever tried to pull a complete harness thru the tunnel? Would it be better for me to try and splice it at the rear where it exits the tunnel. I guess one would have to take apart the plug on the end of the harness in order to pull it thru the tunnel. Your opinions please. Also I would like to purchase a complete 73.5 CIS engine from a running car, when I get to that point. I am going to start out with no investment in the car, as I have sold enough of the spare parts that I didnt need to pay for the car. How much should I expect to pay for an engine, that is in good running condtion? I want to put this car back as close to origional as I can, as it is totally rust free with only 60K miles or so.
