what kind of carbs on 3.2 hurry!!!!

I purchased a 3.2 liter 911 engine and I know that I should use 46ida's but I dont have them. Can I use 40ida's and just recalibrate them for the bigger engine?? please help soon or I will have to complete missing parts from the fuel injection system. thanks louis.

Sure why not...you will probably find that the 40s are nore streetable. The 46s are BIG....they will give you more top end...but you can always get them later.

Louis,

Actually, unless you use significantly 'wilder' cams that raise the peak power rpm, your 3.2 calls for 35 mm venturis and 38 mm thru 44 mm choke tube, so the 40 IDAs or IDS are ideal! Per the Colin Campbell venturi sizing formula on p. 154 of Bruce Anderson's Porsche 911 Performance Handbook, 2nd ed.
