Shocking Question
 

OK...maybe not so shocking, but am preparing to replace the front hood shocks and rear deck shocks on the 91 C2 for a "second time". Last batch made it about 8 months. Does anyone have a type and make of shocks they would recommend? Also, recommendations on how to best replace the front hood shocks will be so greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Agree with Bo - - I've given up replacing the hood struts. I now have a broom handle, painted Porsche Gold and Red, to hold up the front and rear lids. I have more damn scars on the top of my bald head from that damn J hook as the front lid silently comes down when I am looking for something in the trunk! Mine did the same thing after about a year from replacement. Cold weather makes them work even worse. Try the "life time" ones from Performane. Perhaps they will last better. Porsche must of made these to recoup labor cost for their cars. If somebody wasn't able to do these themselves, they would have to go in every 1 to 2 years and have the shop charge them 2 hours of labor and who know what for the shocks. How come I don't have to replace these on my other cars?
