Question fresh air blower burnt out ?

Yesterday, I had a problem with the fresh (cold) air blower on my 1988 Carrera Coupe.

Everything was working fine, until I got a strong burning smell coming from the air vents.
This eventually subsided, but now I find that the fresh air blower works VERY slowly.

Does this mean that the blower motor is burnt out ?

If so, can anyone please describe how I would dismantle the trim in order to reach the motor...a workshop manual page would be useful.

Please help...I have only had the car a week !!
