Just wanted to share some pics of the new muffler, modified to fit my car. I'm getting the valence cut and painted soon.
Thanks to everyone who gave input on my Dansk muffler posts. Here they are. ![]() ![]() ![]() Nick ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com [This message has been edited by Nickshu (edited 03-15-2001).] |

Don't take this the wrong way, but...
Nice ass! If you want to take it to the next level, you might want to think about a fiberglass rear bumper, to get rid of those big rubber pieces. But even with just a valence, that's an awesome looking -- and I'm sure aswesome sounding -- setup. ------------------ Jack Olsen 1973 911 T (3.6) sunroof coupe jackolsen@mediaone.net |

Nick,
nice setup! How much did the muffler set you back? How does it sound? Did you modify the rear valance yourself? |

We sell these, although we don't feature them in our catalog yet. They are quite reasonable. Don't quote me, but I think that they are about the same as the Automotion sport mufflers ($300-$400 range).

Nick...you are making me drool.
I was the one asking about your progress in the other post. I am buying a set from my friend, but with the 2 in and 1 out Bursch which I am not too fond of and I want to go with the Dansk...how is it? I am most concerned about noise...I am in CA, and this mod is illegal, and I am worried about the increased attention. I mean in your post you said it was load...how load...? Also do you scrape when coming out of driveways? they look too nice to damage....plus my SC is at Euro height. if I go with these I will probably get the ones without the pipes welded on...Can you get those Wayne?? Thanks MJ [This message has been edited by 82SC (edited 03-16-2001).] [This message has been edited by 82SC (edited 03-16-2001).] |

Thanks for all the replies guys.
Jack: No offense taken! IROC rear bumper is on the list, but there are several things ahead of it. You know how it is. Leland: Thanks, I didn't get mine thru Pelican (sorry Wayne...I got my oil lines from you though!), but I will say the price I paid for the muffler is exactly the same as Pelican's price. MJ: Well, its not obnoxiously loud, but it is definitely much louder than stock. Its a very low, ear filling rumble at idle up to 1500RPM's, at RPM's above this it quites down alot and is only a bit louder than stock, surprisingly not bad at highway crusing speed. Like I said before, if you get 92.511SD(L), the pipes come not yet welded on and you can position them as you like and weld (or have them welded) on. Make sure you tack them on, then refit the muffler to make sure they are in the right place. Had to reposition them twice to get it right. The right one has to be angled slightly more than the left. Mark: Thanks. Thanks again for all your compliments. Nick. ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com |

Thanks for the info Nick
I closed the deal with my friend and I will be getting the HE and the Bursch. And will save up some dough for the dansk. Do you have any clearance problems?? Now that I am past the noise worries...I am scared my Euro height car with the dansk will scrape...again it looks great... |

MJ,
No clearance problems at all. My car has been lowered quite a bit, probably at least to euro height if not a little lower. My driveway has a sidewalk height rounded bump. I never scrape on the back, but occasionally graze the crash bar on the front if I get the angle wrong, but its a light scraping that doesn't make me cringe too much. Glad to hear you are getting set up! Good Luck! Nick. ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com |
