very early 912 w/aluminum trailing arms
anyone here have any clues to this mystery?
very early #0469 1965 912 COA matching #'s low miles ......aluminum trailing arms??? yes and they are stamped 8 31 73 cast in circles???? here take a look! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

that doesn't look like a short wheelbase to me. somebody did later quarters on it along with the later arms.

LWB I think. just checked distance between wheel opening and door on pic using handle in pic as unit of measure. in pic 2 handles equals distance. checked my SWB, it's about 1 and 2/3 door handles. about a 2" difference.

Short wheel base/long wheel base
measure the distance between the torsion bar cover and the wheel arch, (that little round cover on the lower 1/4 panel). If it is close to 1/2" it would be SWB but if it measures close to 2 3/4" it has been changed to that very desirable - stable - LWB.

Not sure if I'd call that "very desirable" as said above. Many prefer the SWB handling.

you guys are the best! appears to have had the quarter work done with the torsion hole 2" from edge of fender well.
