Took my fuel pump apart to clean it, now it doesn't pump
In trying to make sure everything was clean for before starting my newly rebuilt engine, I cleaned the gas tank, replaced all the fuel lines, and blew out the hard lines in the chassis. Just to make sure I pulled the pump, removed the cap and cleaned out any varnish possibly in there. The car had sat for several years with gas in the tank. Now I realized I didn't assemble the fuel pump correctly, and it doesn't pump very well. It appears I did not align the eccentric to the output lines.
![]() It obviously lines up with the output manifold, but silly me I didn't take a photo of it before I took it apart ![]() Any help would be appreciated. |
