What type of paint to use for rims
 

Has anybody painted their rims?

What type of paint should or shouldn't be used?

Maybe powder coat?

I just refinished my BBS rims and repainted them with Wurth silver wheel paint. They look nice, but it is many hours of hard work. That combined with the materials I had to buy has convinced me that if I had to do it again, I would have them professionally refinished and repainted. Wurth wheel paint is a laquere that is supposedly more resistant to chipping than typical auto enamels. I ordered the Wurth from Stoddard ($17 per can); it took nearly three cans to put on several coats.

Do you have any pic's of your newly refinished wheels? I'm about to refinish a set of RUF wheels (thanks Mully) and I'm trying to figure out which paint to use. I've been looking at the Wurth silver. It appears to be the best thing going. Although I came accross a similar looking paint from Griots.
They claim it's made in Germany, and the description is very similar to the one Wurth uses. Has anyone ever tried the Griots paint? Any other suggestions?

You should really look into powder coating. I had my roll bar powdercoated entirely for $80. For wheels, I think it would be the most durable. Not quite sure what kind of heat limit the wheels would take. Anybody else here have them done this way?
