My Education

Could some of you help in my education of the 911. Without spending $95.00 to get the certificate from Porsche on my car I would like to know what options it came with. I have an '86 911 coupe, one of the prior owners claimed it came with a factory tail. The car now has no tail. So I am curious if this is a tale? I have read other postings that the sticker under the hood and the maintenance book should have these options listed. Both stickers are blank next to options word. A sunroof is an option....right? Is this just certain years that have this writing on the stickers? To help you understand me since my writings are usually mixed up, my focus years/favorite years are '84 thru '89. Thanks in advance. Mike

Please, more info cdrik915! I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to do this.

Can this letter be in English? What does it need to include other than the VIN?

Thanks,
Mike

Very cool! I really like the choco-Porsche!

For those of us that are not fluent in French, what does the letter need to say?

You might try a phone call to PCNA in Atlanta and ask for info via the VIN. They may be able to tell you for no charge. The COA have proven to be unreliable, just research Wayne's 959 and you'll see what I mean.

Sorry about the OT. There should be a sticker under the hood with the option codes. I'm not certain, but I think that the sunroof was not an option, rather sunroof delete was. I could be confusing that with later models though.

As an alternative, you could also obtain the list of option codes for your car by contacting Porsche Cars of North America (PCNA) and requesting a "cardex" for your car. The "cardex" will show you a bunch of information about your car including the option codes, paint code, etc...

Later,
Mike
