A new restoration is about to see the road.

Well, hopefully sometime in 2008. I did the panel replacement on this car last year in the winter (2006). It finally made it to the paint shop for what looks to be an outstanding job. I haven't seen it yet in person.

This car will and must remain a mystery, so I won't say another word. Just check it out. It was a mess when I first took it in.

You might remember I made this for it then found out I could just buy it at Stoddards!!

If the owner wants anyone to know anything more, he'll have to say it. I'm not looking for any praise here because I've decided to not offer metalwork services to others any more. I have enough to do.

Outstanding! I can't wait to see the finished product! Are you reassembling this and doing the finish work, or were you contracted for metal work only??

Patrick, I only did the "rough" work, front pan, rockers, changed doors, rear package tray; about 4 months total. Oh yeah, there were lots of little things like the lower section of the A pillars which I redid with custom fabrication.

Just the FG bumpers AFA cars go. But, I've been in welding school and I have slightly changed careers. That's enough.

Uncle "Miltie"

I am not going to give you any praise, but that is one great job. Glad to see you are doing something great in your "retired" life. Hope you are enjoying the"new career".

Just to let you I should have Gene's 914-6 built this next year with the anticipated date in August/September 2008. It will not be painted but will be road worthy for checking out dependability and evaluation.

I am going to try to get to the Long Beach Area during the year; I want to see the Peterson Museum and others.

Take care
Steve Hurt

I meant to ask you Milt...(or others) - Do you plan on applying the tape/gasket/sealer on the fenders before buttoning them up? Does this stuff really keep the moisture/dirt out or does it speed up the deterioration because it traps the moisture/dirt?

Would you install the fenders without?

Thanks!

Thanks Milt, this is my pride and joy. Ernie Villanueva did the paint. Many thanks to both parties for taking on this project and doing such a wonderful job. The body lines are smooth and even, the panels are flat as can be and I love the color! I have a long way to go as you can see, but the biggest hurdle has been cleared in my eyes and I will chug forward as fast as time and money permits. I could really use a parts car to help me with missing hardware and provide some insight as to how things go together if anyone can help me with a lead....

To answer the question from pozee, I fully intend to install the fenders with the sealing tape. We sell it in a 5 meter roll for about $45 if memory serves.

thanks. I'm sure this is going to take a while.

That pocket is installed on my 1970 911E. I'm crazy enough to be attempting to work on 2 911's at the same time.
