Mark Wilson 12-27-2007 01:52 PM

OK guys, Kurt V has agreed to be treasurer for this deal. There is still a lot to work out, but right now, every day and every hour is working against us. Our goal is going to be $350,000 and we need to put this together in 30 days.

There are 45265 members of Pelican Parts Bulliten Boards. We only need 350 guys who can donate $1000 or 700 that will donate $500. Many of us spend that much at the drop of a hat for parts or repairs. Warren Hall has been a fixture of the Porsche community and this BBS from the beginning. He has generously contributed and never asked for anything in return. He's not asking now - I am. I need you guys to dig deep and do it quickly.

The official paypal fundraising account for Warren is kvalent118@gmail.com. Paypal website is https://www.paypal.com/.

I'm going to start this by donating $1000 and I challenge you all to give as deeply as you can. Every penny of this will be used for Warren's care. Please help.

Poetic Justice

I think it would be VERY VERY fitting if everyone here that has ever benefitted from Warren's vast knowledge of our cars auctioned off a Porsche part or two on his behalf.
Funds paid directly into a PayPal account set up for the purpose. I have a couple of beauties in mind myself...

For the first 10 people to donate $100, I will match their donation!

Joeaksa 12-27-2007 01:58 PM

Just donated to the fund. Let us know how its going and what else we can do.

I can contribute.

Also- I quoted this listed above from Shaun84 targa- it sounds crazy but might really be something to consider. I watched a PBS special a few days ago about this very topic- increasing numbers of Americans are going to India, etc. for surgery and they treat foreigners really well.

Because you are a foreigner with money, as opposed to the locals without, you get the best doctors, and many of them have trained at large universities in the US.

It might be worth looking into- after watching the special I decided I would do it if needed someday and insurance would not cover it, as long as you do your homework.

Best of luck to Warren- our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm definitely down for $100.00.

This year has been a really bad one for me money wise or I wouldn't hesitate to donate $1000.00.

We can do this people. Let's do it!

mtbguy 12-27-2007 02:02 PM

ALSO- maybe some of the vendor/sponsors of the 911 forums (this one and Rennlist) could match proceeds, or donate a percentage as a tax write off to help????????

Hey Mark,

Sorry to hear about Early S Man, I have recently had surgery myself and am slowly starting to get around okay... I think that we can definately raise the money needed..... seems like alot of guys are willing to donate....

Financially speaking I can not afford to give till towards the end of next month (I do not know if this will be too late for collecting or not) What I do have at this time is my weekends free since I have physical therapy during the week. I would be willing to travel to where I am needed by other Pelicans to assist in cooking for any benefit dinners that are arranged. I believe that the closest Pelican's to me are in Houston, and since they are 6hrs away from me I have never met any of the guys. I do have access to a large pull behind BBQ pit that will hold approx. 10 briskets.... I also have outdoor cookers for deep frying turkeys and for making large pots of Carne Guisada... If any of you guys want or need my help just pm me.
My family will be praying for Early S Mans recovery.....

Man that's hard to read.
Warren has been around this board from the beginning and has helped countless DIY 911 nuts. I'd bet if every person who has read an Early S Man post sent $1 the cost of the procedure would be covered.

Or ten bucks for every bit of good advise it would be double that!SmileWavy

For those of you that want to send a check you can make it out to me and I will deposit it into the Warren account. Here's the info you need:

mtbguy 12-27-2007 02:18 PM

Thanks Kurt - money sent. I can probably contribute more in a few weeks pending the sale of Ebay items.

Keep up the good work everyone!

RSBob 12-27-2007 02:19 PM

Money sent.

If any guys have contacts with the local PCA chapter Officers, they may be able to shake some money out of those members. Any one know if Warren was a PCA member, not that it doesn't matter but it would definitely help.
