Does anyone know how to remove this trim?
Hey people,
does anyone know how to take this piece circled in red out, it has some bubbling in the alloy and I would like to replace or refinish it. I can't find it in the parts catalogue , I'm not sure where to start with it. cheers! Spence http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1198820651.jpg |

Yes, you have to remove the quarter window, and any interior trim that overlaps this piece.
You can then get at it with a dull putty knife or plastic pry bar. On the older cars there are metal rivets, not sure what secures it on the newer cars. |
Spence,
remove the side window and you should see it is held in place with philips head screws. There should also be one inside the door lamb. When you get the screws out pry the trim piece up with a wide putty knife from inside the car. There will also be some putty type sealant holding the piece down. This is how it was on my 72 and 74. I have pics if you need any. It should be the same on your car. |
Wow, quick response! Thanks a lot guys!

about 6 tiny screws hold it on to the body. should be clear with the quarter window and seal out of the way.
