Goodbye for now...

Well, the 911 is leaving next Saturday to live with its "new" owner....I felt sad for a while until I hit the "buy it now" button in a moment of redbull-less induced insanity this morning...
It's been fun and educational talking to you guys but I don't think I'll have any P-cars for a while, so, even though I'll be lurking and keeping tabs on Tabs over in "off topic", I'll take this moment to say thanks for all the priceless advice and guidance offered over the last few years.

New toy...

Old toy...

Enjoy your new ride....... you'll be back soon I hope!

Hey, make sure you let us know how your new ride is. My buddy had a newer 510hp Viper, it was fascinating. It created tremendous amounts of heat in the footwells, and could cruise along the highway at 120km/hr in 2nd gear, turning 3000 rpm. Crazy machine. Tough to make it hook up on a launch, just so much power.

Hi all... the spam message in my mailbox had me sign in, so, figured I'd give an update on Viper ownership.
This car is amazing..the best way to sum it up is that it feels just like a 911 but with a couple of extra engines in the back (or front?). It's actually quite nimble for such a long, wide car and the chassis is as rigid as a 911 coupe. It's a little more comfortable and roomy but the real fun begins when you hit the go pedal !!!. Pegging it in the first few gears, the rear squats, wiggles and then squats some more as it shoots forward and pins you back in the seat... the rear tires are 335's and they still can't hold full power in 1st and 2nd. Putting it into 6th gear means you are breaking all posted speed limits as it's unusable below 70-75 mph. Highway cruising will yield a respectable 20-23mpg but around town hooliganism will give you about 6-8mpg (but it's a lot of fun!).
It's safe to say that I love this car and hope to have it for a very long time.

Do you still burn your calves on the doorsills getting in and out, or have they improved that with the pipe covers?

If you look at the date he first posted on this thread he sold the 911 in 2007.
