Wheel and tire options for 964 C4

I know this topic has been beat to death and I've gone through the performance hand book and all the archives but I still don't have an answer.

I'm thinking about putting 7.5x17 cup wheels with 225x45 front and 9x17 255x40 on the rear of a 964 c4. I'd like to know if anyone is running this setup and if it will rub without any spacers. I believe the offsets are 55 for both front and rear.

As far as I am aware, these should work. I have the same size on my C2.
Cheers

Carlo,

I have a 964 C2. I'm running 8x17's up front with 225-45-17's with no spacers. There is v-e-r-y slight rubbing when backing up with the wheel fully turned but that is it (it's so slight that after several months and 4000 miles, there are NO rub marks on the wheel-well liner or the tire. . .it is barely audible/noticeable). For some reason, rolling forward at full turn there is no rubbing.

On the back, I have 9x17's running 255-40's and there is plenty of room and they fill the wells nicely. I believe your C4 is a widebody(?) so you would have no problem at all, although you may need offsets to fill the well properly.

With this set-up, the car sticks like glue. I'm quite happy with it. Thinking of adding a strut-brace up front as well. Does anyone have experience with these?

Thanks,

Super. That's what I needed to here. I'm going to purchase a set soon. The I don't believe the C4's are a widebody. If fact I'm pretty sure they aren't. What size spacers are you using in the rear to fill the well out? Do you have pictures? I'd love to see them.

Thanks.
