1970 911E ignition timing
OK, it's 30BTDC at 6000rpm. What should it be at idle? Or do I not care?

You don't really care but I'd say anywhere from 5 ATDC to 10 BTDC.

I wouldn't worry about it, and you can't change it anyhow. If you set the timing to some ideal at idle, with the stock distributor you'll most likely be off by quite a bit in the key range of 3000-4500 RPM. I'm pretty sure that they set the timing at 6000 RPM because at that engine speed the distributor is pegged at it's maximum travel, so the springs and such have been removed from the equation.
