John Dougherty AKA Camgrinder...What a Guy!!
I was rebuilding my 3.6 and noticed a bad spot on one of my cam lobes. Since John Dougherty seems to have a good reputation especially in the camshaft arena, I gave him a call. Turns out his shop is about 5 miles from my house. (my lucky day)
I take a drive up there and John swaps me another cam in perfect condition. The price was absolutely outrageous.....it was FREE! His version is that it's just a core for a performance grind. My version is I needed a stock cam and this guy saves me a bunch of money and a lot of hassle. We chatted at length about cams, rockers, performance grinds, dogs, shops and a variety of subjects. While we talked the machines were of course idle and not making money. What a great guy to offer that kind of personal customer service. You don't find that often especially in the customized shops.....awesome guy.

Ha! There's nothing altruistic about it at all - don't you know the first one is always free?
 That's a classy thing to do though, and no mistake. Most places would have asked you for money - and you'd have handed it over and not even thought twice about it.

I stayed today at work and put on my cam boxes . Got my cams back from John a few weeks ago and am iching to get it back together and in the car .
1. fast > yes 2. professional in communication >yes 3. great final product>proof is in the pudding but they look good . I'm sure I'll buy and do business with camgringer ( Dougherty Racing Cams ) again . +1 SxS
