Pre-74 hood/frt. fenders on 74 & later 911's, anyone done this?

I am in the market for a 73 and earlier 911 but the recent price rise for these cars is making me look later. The 74 and later (2.7's) can be had for a good price but I do not like the looks of the 74-80+ series cars.

How difficult (read expensive) would it be to replace the two front fenders, hood, and the front bumper with used parts? Can this even be done, if so does anyone have photos (before/after of the conversion)? What about the rear?

The whole process looks as if it would be a bolt off/bolt on procedure. I would think the only show stopper might be the fornt bumper supports?

Comments?

Thanks
jjs3rd 914.

PS, I had purchased a 1973.5 911T coupe new and I regret ever selling it. I have had not luck in trying to locate the car via some of these registries. It was sold in 1985 or so and went to New England. It was signal yellow (no sunroof or AC) and would be easily recognized as I had installed front vent windows that opened from a pre-69 coupe. The car had no AC so having the vent windows open was great. Plus it looked fine.

Vin was 9113103090. Anyone seen this car?

The rear section of the car is pretty straight forward. The front requires some welding. It is feesible.

This has discussd countless times on this board with lots of information and pictures.
