Any suggestions on removing adhesive residue left from wheel weights. That will not damage the wheel surface.

A lot of solvents will do this. Try a test spot. Paint thinner is weak. Those containing acetone and or toluene work better. Then there's the ones with benzene. Be careful with any of it.
And, all this depends on the "wheel surface." What do you have? |

WD40 and rubbing with your fingers. Found out that WD40 is less aggressive than other solvents and removers.

yes! i lean the wheel in such a way that a small pool of WD40 will sit/pool over the adhesive pad. let it sit overnight. add some more if it needs it. then the next day, i use a plastic spatula that people use to smear up spackle, and scrap it off.

3M. Glue comes right off. No damage to the rims.
