Help with '67 S engine serial #

Can someone give me the range for '67S engine serial numbers. I'm looking at an engine who's numbers are not making sense according to Morgan's "Original Porsche 911". Can someone check another source (Red Book, etc.)?

Thanks!

67 911S Engine #'s

960 001 to 962 178

960 001 thru 961 190 were installed from Sept to Dec 1966.
961 191 thru 962 178 January - Aug 1967.

These were used in both the Coupes and the Targa.

The Stoddard reference I have shows that engine #'s 960001 to 961144 is an engine type 901/02 and was made in 1966 for MY 1967.

engine #'s 961141 to 962178 were made in early 1967 for MY 1967. Same engine type number 901/02.

I am not sure why there is an overlap or discrepancy between the end numbers of the first run and the start number of the second run. I suspect if you have number 961141, 142, 143 or 144, you have a valid question.

That's great news, because it fits for the engine I'm looking at. The book I referenced only listed numbers from 960001-961178.

Thanks for the help!
